1. Setting up post time analysis

By default, Google Analytics does not track post times for your blog posts. However, you can use MonsterInsights to add this tracking using a custom dimension.

Upon activation, you will be redirected to Knowledge from your WordPress dashboard, and you will see the MonsterInsights welcome screen. Go ahead and click the “Launch Wizard” button to add Google Analytics to your site.

Then you can head to Overviews » Add-ons from your WordPress dashboard, then scroll down to the “Dimensions” addon. After that, click on the “Install” button and the addon will automatically activate.

You will see the status change from “Not Installed” to “Active”.

Then navigate to the “Conversions” tab.

Next, scroll down to the “Custom Dimensions” section.

Here you will need to click on the “Add a new custom dimension” button to start adding post time tracking.

After that, just select the “Published to” dimension from the drop-down menu.

Don’t forget to save your changes when you’re done.

First, you will need to visit the Google Analytics website and login to your account. Simply choose your website property from the menu at the top.

Then click on the “Create definitions” and “Custom dimensions” options under the Property column.

You will now see codes for your custom dimensions.

Just click the “Done” button at the bottom.

Your custom dimension will now be created in Google Analytics.

Just make sure the index number in Google Analytics matches the custom dimensions ID in MonsterInsights. If this is the first custom dimension you set up, they will both automatically equal “1”, so there is no need to adjust it.

To set up custom dimensions in Google Analytics version 4, go ahead and sign in to your account.

After that, you will need to access Configure in the menu on your left.

Next, head over to the “Custom Definitions” option in the left menu, and click the “Create Custom Definition” button.

Now you will need to enter the details for your new custom dimension. Simply enter a name for the dimension and add a description for your own reference. We’ll call the new custom dimension “Best Time to Publish.”

When selecting the staff, go ahead and choose “Event” from the drop-down menu. Finally, enter an event parameter that you want the dimension to use and display in reports, such as “publication_time”.

After entering this information, remember to click the “Save” button when you are done.

You have successfully created a custom dimension in Google Analytics to record the best time to post on your website.

Now you can go ahead and see the best posting times on your site and see when you get the most traffic.

With MonsterInsights, you can view the Dimensions report in your WordPress dashboard. Just go to Insights » Reports from your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to the “Dimensions” report.
